Re-Entry was created in 1998 by Glenn Smith, a psychologist and the founder of Life Connections. It was implemented in the Mecklenburg County Jail, with the support of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. The original life skills curricula were created to provide best practice, research-based instruction to reduce recidivism and increase the personal development of individuals who were presently incarcerated.

The development of the Re-Entry program has involved psychologists, instructional specialists, teachers, administrators, university professors, researchers – all working together – to build an incredibly comprehensive solution to improve the lives of individuals.

All of the Re-Entry Life Skills Courses are designed for those individuals who are committed to looking closely at how they have been living their lives, and are now ready to take an even closer look at how they want to live their lives in the future.
