Helping Youth and Families Thrive Across North Carolina

Programs

Since 1997, Life Connections has worked to keep kids out of jail and keep families connected. We do this through a variety of programs that address the needs of youth, families, and adults re-entering society. Each program is built on restorative practices that are evidence-based. Our belief is that every person can grow, change, and succeed with the right support..

We have initiated 19 programs across 13 counties, where we have supported more than 6,500 families and continue to expand our reach every year. All programs are available in both English and Spanish using a two generation approach supporting the entire family.

Families

Our Strengthening Families program helps parents and teens improve communication, reduce conflict, and build trust. Families learn together in guided sessions that strengthen relationships and create a supportive home environment.

Mentoring

The Mentoring program uses a youth-initiated model that empowers young people to connect with positive, trusted adults already in their lives. With guidance from trained Mentor Coaches, youth learn accountability, goal-setting, and how to build natural support networks.

Counseling

Through a partnership with Healing Pathways LLC, our Counseling services provide trauma-informed therapy, family counseling, and skill-building for at-risk youth and justice-involved individuals. Licensed therapists help families process challenges and develop strategies for long-term success.

Restorative Justice / Restitution

Our Restorative Justice / Restitution program gives youth the opportunity to repair harm, take responsibility, and make amends. Facilitated community circles bring together the youth, the harmed party, and volunteers to create an action plan for healing and accountability.

Workforce Development

Our Workforce Development programs help individuals build employable skills and earn certifications. From soft-skills training to peer support specialist certification, these programs prepare participants for meaningful careers and greater opportunities.

Re-Entry

The Re-Entry program, founded in 1998, provides life skills courses to incarcerated individuals preparing for release. The program reduces recidivism by helping participants develop personal responsibility, communication skills, and long-term goals for rejoining their families and communities.
